New TWO day course delivered live online, by Emily and Lindsay
30th November and 1st December 2026
The Perinatal Sensory Beginnings Course explores the sensory, neurobiological, and occupational foundations of pregnancy, birth, and early caregiving.
We look at how our eight senses, the stress response, and neurodiverse patterns of processing influence both the parent’s and baby’s ability to regulate, relate, and recover.
Together, we explore two key sensory spaces:
Through the framework of our Occupational Ribbons — Relationships, Regulation, Movement, Rhythms & Routines, Communication, and Play — we translate neuroscience into everyday, embodied care.
Why This Course Matters
Stress, sensory sensitivity, and neurodiverse ways of processing are not problems to fix — they are individual languages of the nervous system.
When we understand them, we can support parents and babies to find safety, rhythm, and connection in their own way.
Participants will:
-
Deepen their understanding of stress physiology, sensory regulation, and neurodiversity in the perinatal period.
-
Learn sensory-informed, trauma-aware interventions to support co-regulation and recovery.
-
Explore everyday occupations — feeding, soothing, sleeping, playing — as opportunities for healing and connection.
-
Leave with practical strategies to bring sensory and neurodiversity awareness into all areas of perinatal and infant care.
